Come and See a Church Where You’re Truly Welcomed
At Galeton Baptist Church, we gather around God’s Word, grow in Christ together, and serve our neighbors with sincerity.
Our story began in 1944, when a group of believers branched out with a shared vision to establish a new local ministry. From that day forward we became known as the Galeton “Independent” Baptist church.
In the early days, most of our members lived right here in the Galeton area, and many of them were local farming families. While things have changed over the years, that hardworking, community spirit is still at the heart of who we are.
We are proud to have five generations represented in our church family history—from the original members who helped start it all, down to the children who attend with us today. Whether you are looking for a small church family or just passing through, our hearts are always open. So… Come and see!

What We Believe
The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, consisting of sixty‑six books of the Old and New Testaments. Scripture is God‑breathed, fully trustworthy, and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. God Breathed, Truthful and Fully Trustworthy
The Nature of God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in essence, power, and glory, yet distinct in person and function. God is holy, sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, loving, and just.
The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for sinners, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will return bodily and gloriously.
Fully God: “In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
Fully Man: “The Word became flesh…” (John 1:14)
Fully Both Simultaneously: “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.” (Colossians 2:9)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, indwells and regenerates the believer, and empowers, seals, sanctifies, and guides the Christian life. He also distributes spiritual gifts for the edification of the church.
Humanity and Sin
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God but fell through Adam’s sin, resulting in spiritual death, separation from God, and universal depravity. All people are sinners by nature and by choice and stand in need of salvation.
“Let Us make man in Our image…” (Genesis 1:26)
“Through one man sin entered into the world…” (Romans 5:12)
“For all have sinned…” (Romans 3:23)
Salvation
We believe in eternal salvation, which includes justification, sanctification, glorification, regeneration, and adoption into the family of God. Salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in the completed work of Christ, and is not earned by works.
The Church
We believe the local church is God’s primary institution for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission. The church is an autonomous body under the headship of Christ and governed by the congregation.
Ordinances
We believe there are two ordinances given by Christ:
1. Baptism: Believer’s baptism as a public testimony of faith.
2. The Lord’s Supper: A memorial of Christ’s death to be observed by those who have been born again through faith in Him.
Last Things (Eschatology)
We believe in the pre‑tribulation rapture of the church, followed by a seven‑year Tribulation, the bodily second coming of Christ, and His 1,000‑year reign on earth.
Angels, Satan, and Spiritual Warfare
We believe angels are created spiritual beings who serve God. Satan is a real, personal being, the adversary of God and His people, whose defeat is certain.
Marriage, Gender, and Family
We believe God created humanity male and female and that the family is God’s foundational social unit.
Creation
We believe God created the universe by His direct act. Humanity is the special creation of God, distinct from animals, bearing His image.
“In the beginning God created…” (Genesis 1:1). We affirm a literal six‑day creation:
Day 1: Light (Genesis 1:3–5)
Day 2: Sky/expanse (Genesis 1:6–8)
Day 3: Land, seas, vegetation (Genesis 1:9–13)
Day 4: Sun, moon, stars (Genesis 1:14–19)
Day 5: Fish and birds (Genesis 1:20–23)
Day 6: Animals and mankind (Genesis 1:24–31)
The repeated “evening and morning” being the strongest support for literal 24‑hour days.
Missions
We believe the Great Commission is binding on every believer and every local church. We are called to proclaim the gospel locally and globally.
“You will be My witnesses…” (Acts 1:8)
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18–20)
Closing Affirmation
We submit this statement of our beliefs with humility, gratitude, and conviction, affirming that it represents our sincere understanding of the teachings of Holy Scripture and our commitment to Baptist doctrine and practice. By the grace of God, we desire to preach the gospel faithfully, teach the whole counsel of God, doing this with love and integrity, and to serve His church for the glory of God alone. Amen.
Meet Our Staff

Pat Piscani – Senior Pastor
Family and Ministry History
Pastor Pat grew up in New York and lived there for 42 years. He moved to Colorado in 1998, where he met his wife, Auriel; they have been married for 25 years. They have four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. On April 20, 2010, at 3:30 p.m., when Pat was 54 years old, he received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Yes, he remembers the exact day and time!
Pat states that since that time, the Holy Spirit continues His work to nurture and transform him. Along the way, the Lord has put before him several opportunities to minister. Pat was part of a Church Evangelism Group that spent 10 days in the Philippines preaching God’s Word to school students. Additionally, he was able to take part on another trip; that time, it was a Missionary Trip to Jamaica for 10 days.
Over the past several years, Pat has taught adult Bible studies for family, friends, elderly adults, and members of the church, serving both groups and individuals. During the past six years, the Lord has opened additional doors for him to serve through jail ministry, as an Associate Pastor at Sherwood Park Baptist Church, and now as Senior Pastor at Galeton Baptist Church.
Since he has come to know the Lord, Pat clearly makes known by words and actions, what a wonderful walk it has been, and it continues to be so. His favorite Bible Verse is Isaiah 6:8… Also, I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am! Send me.” …Pat and his wife Auriel passionately believe like Isaiah, we are always at the Lord’s call, even before the task is known.

Franz Launer – Head Deacon
Franz Launer was born in Hershey, Nebraska, but grew up in Greeley, Colorado. In 1983, he began dating his high school sweetheart, who attended Galeton Baptist Church. Through attending the church, Franz came to know the Lord personally in October of 1985 and has faithfully served Him ever since. Over the years, he has contributed in a variety of ways—leading songs, ushering, helping maintain the building and yard and continues to step in wherever a need arises. In 1990, he was honored to be asked to serve as a Deacon, and in 2014, following the passing of his father-in-law, he became Head Deacon.
Franz loves the Lord deeply and treasures the opportunity to serve His church in any way he is needed.

Jacob Krise – Deacon
Jacob Krise was born in Greeley; he grew up in Briggsdale, Colorado. After graduating high school, he met his wife Shelbi in 2011 and married in 2013. They lived in Greeley for a while then moved to Brush Colorado, still attending Galeton Baptist Church throughout. Jacob has been a Deacon since 2015. Jacob and Shelbi currently live in Longmont with their three children whom they ensure to teach the love of Christ. Jacob’s favorite verses are Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16.
